Our tip for a year-round summer atmosphere: Mosáico cement tiles. With typical colors and patterns, you can create a cheerful, Mediterranean living environment.
From Provence to the Orient
Whether you prefer monochrome or patterned tiles is entirely up to you. Because thanks to our wide selection, you can choose your individual Mediterranean ambiance conjure. In our Manufacture in Marrakesh The “Malems” (masters) produce each cement tile individually by hand. After casting and pressing, the unique pieces mature at optimal temperatures and the appropriate humidity. This is how every single tile captures summer. The silky smooth surface completes the wonderful warm look. The following video shows you the individual steps of development.
Origin of cement tiles: in the ancient Mediterranean
The cement tiles, which are widely used in the Mediterranean, came to us via Spain and France around 1850/1860. Walls and floors in private homes, theaters, churches, factories and train stations were equipped with the then innovative building material. But the art of making cement tiles is much older: yours Roots go back to ancient times back — and this had its center around the Mediterranean Sea. For example, our tiles with the meander pattern, which was already popular with the ancient Greeks and Romans, remind us of this.
Modern Mediterranean ambiance
In addition to the classic meander, floral motifs and star or wave patterns underline the summery Mediterranean flair. Even tiles without patterns create a cheerful and sunny atmosphere — simply by combining the individual colors.
