A brick villa from the 1930s in Kamp-Lintfort changed hands. It quickly became apparent to the new owners that the renovation would become a core renovation. The character of the house was absolutely to be preserved and so people were also looking for traditional floor coverings — keywords such as Victorian, Wilhelminian period and Art Nouveau were used. The decision was therefore made for a representative entrance area with cement tiles. These began in the middle of the 19th century and offer an inexhaustible variety of patterns and color combinations.
Through an Internet search, the couple came to the MOSÁICO photo gallery and immediately fell in love with a traditional pattern. It should be this and no other! In doing so, the spouses proved their expertise, as this pattern with a matching border was reissued in the special size of 15 x 15 cm per tile using unique antique pieces.
Of course, it is also possible — for example for a monument protection project — to revive any other pattern based on the original tiles.
This is pattern 252 with border 484 in the colors mahogany M14, Bordeaux M13, cream M03, cinnamon M35, mustard M06, sky blue M20 and light blue M21 and a monochrome border in mahogany M14.
The effect is — as you can see — stunning and impressively underlines the character of the lovingly restored house. We wish the couple a long and happy time in their new home. You will still be able to enjoy the tiles in a hundred years.
