Summer — sun — ice time

August 11, 2024

Anyone who lives in Felix Austria — happy Austria — is well off. Because then there is a branch of the special ice cream parlour near him Eis-Greissler. At 12 locations across Austria, namely in 10 ice cream parlors, a café in a shopping center and their own adventure park, customers enjoy ice cream, which is made from the milk of their own happy cows and other exclusively fresh and natural ingredients. This also explains the slogan of the ice cream grocer: Out of muuh! Will Wow!

The Eis-Greissler branches are easy to recognize by their blue and white design

Each shop has the same pastel blue and white checkered design. The check pattern is reminiscent of woven fabrics in the so-called farmer's check. In this traditional weave, colored and white stripes of equal width are crossed. The result is a checkered pattern of white, coloured and semi-coloured squares. The French spa town of Vichy in particular was known for weaving mills that produced this pattern, and Empress Eugénie, who liked the pattern, brought it to Paris. From there, it began its triumphal march across Europe.

The minimalistic design of the Vichy check found its way from bedding and picnic blankets to clothing. Judy Garland wore a Vichy fabric dress in The Wizard of Oz, Marilyn Monroe loved capri pants in the pattern and Brigitte Bardot got married in a pink Vichy dress. Bauernkaro always stands for tradition and freshness. This is also the case in the food industry, where it now symbolizes high-quality, traditional production. The pastel blue of the ice cream grocer also suggests summer freshness.

Vichy checkered cement tiles

The floors of the Eis-Greissler stores are tiled with Mosáico cement tiles measuring 10 x 10 cm. Our partner took over the distribution Lavisio. The pastel blue check pattern is represented by three different cement tiles. Monochrome tiles in pastel and white alternate with diagonally striped tiles in the same colors. Mosáico made the metal template for the production of the striped tiles and also individually mixed the pastel blue color according to Eis-Greissler's instructions. On the walls, wallpaper in the same color scheme continues the pattern. The result is a clearly recognizable corporate design, which is also reflected on employee clothing, napkins, ice cream sundaes and waffle cones. Here, as in the branches of Werner's butcher shop, Mosáico cement tiles stand out as an unmistakable eye-catcher and thus underline the recognition value of the branches. From Muuh! Will Wow!

In the large ice cream display cases at Eis-Greissler, in addition to the traditional Ice cream flavors Unusual flavors are also offered, which change depending on the season. For example, there is currently pumpkin seed oil, goat cheese, sorrel or elderflower ice cream. And if you can't get enough or live further away, you can take a 0.5 or 1 liter cool box home and enjoy it there.
