Wine in a glass and vine leaves on the ground

August 11, 2024

The listed building of the Hieronimi wine house is located right on the Moselle in Cochem. The founding father Johannes Hieronimi opened a winery and distillery here in 1843.

In 1999, the sixth generation of the Hieronimi family took over the family business as a wine trade and concentrated on marketing Moselle wine specialities.

When the father wanted to sell the house, Mrs. Nicola Hieronimi and her husband Martin Möhnen decided to take over the house and move back to the Moselle. Ms. Hieronimi gave up her administrative career in Eckernförde for this. The house was completely renovated and the winter garden converted into a “wine café”. The couple began a new life and now run the Hieronimi wine house with wine cellar, vineyard and wine café.

In the wine cellar, visitors can taste eight different wines during a wine tasting and find out about the wines and cultivation on the Moselle. In summer, the vineyard offers the opportunity to relax with a glass of wine with a view of Cochem and the Moselle.

The former winter garden shines with cement tiles in the colors of reed (M52), gray (M32) and fog (M33). They create an elegant ambiance in which the patterns appear discreetly in the background.

The former winter garden is now the “wine café”

Ms. Hieronimi chose pattern 219, which looks completely different in these colors than the Persian carpet in the Frisian house. Here We have put together a selection of different color samples for you. With the tile planner You can try out other combinations.

For the wine café, the pattern was our 432 border with — how could it be otherwise — wine leaves! This is how the central theme continues on the ground. The stylish ambiance is rounded off by comfortable armchairs with Viennese weave. The seating area is an inheritance from Grandma and, after careful restoration, has been given a second life as an eye-catcher in a wine café.

The wine café impresses with its elegant and cozy atmosphere

If the winter break is too long until the wine cellar, wine café and vineyard reopen, the online shop is recommended.

Cheers to the Hieronimi wine house!
